A Big Win for Wisconsin Rapids: Local Sweepstakes Winner Drives Away in a New Chevy Colorado from Wheelers

It is not every day that a national sweepstakes moment happens right here in Wisconsin Rapids, but that is exactly what made this celebration so special.

Charles Johnson of Wisconsin Rapids was named a winner in the Kwik Trip Red Zone Midwest Tour Sweepstakes, earning $50,000 toward a vehicle of his choice. Even better, he was able to celebrate the win locally by taking delivery of his new vehicle at Wheelers Chevrolet GMC of Wisconsin Rapids, located at 2410 W. Grand Ave.

For the Rapids community, this was more than a vehicle delivery. It was a hometown moment.

Johnson selected a 2026 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2, a rugged midsize pickup known for its off-road capability, bold styling, and ready-for-anything attitude. Representatives from Kwik Trip and Wheelers were on hand as Johnson picked out the truck, received the keys, and celebrated a prize that brought plenty of excitement to the area.

“This is such an exciting moment for Charles and for Wisconsin Rapids,” said Mary Jo Wheeler, owner of Wheelers. “We’re proud to be part of this celebration and to help Charles drive away in a vehicle he’s truly excited about.”

The delivery took place at Wheelers in Wisconsin Rapids, right next to the Kwik Trip connected to the sweepstakes celebration, making the moment feel especially local. A Rapids resident won big, chose his truck here, and got to enjoy the experience with people from the community there to cheer him on.

Johnson said the prize came as a surprise.

“I’m excited to drive this, it’s awesome,” Johnson said, adding that he and his wife have wanted a truck for a long time.
